PICTURE DICTIONARY

Hello readers,

In this new post I’m going to show you a picture dictionary. The majority of the pictures that we used this year, weren’t legal. But my teacher wanted to do a work with legal pictures. So she asked us to do this picture dictionary, and if they said us to put attribution we had to put it. They were so many topics to choose, like: vegetables, fruits, sports, jobs, animals, and so on. I chose the animals one, because I love them and I think the animals attract children.

Many times we take a picture and we think that because it is in the internet are legal pictures, but sometime they are not. People can put the licence at the way they want, and we have to respect them. So we have to be careful with the picture we take from the internet.

MY OWN WEBSITE

In this months I have been doing my own website. So today I will speak about my website called "Read the life". I had to imagine that I have my own business, and as I love to read, I have decided to do it about books.

Firstly, I had to do a navigation bar, that contains these sections: Home, Location, Books, Contact, FAQ and About us. The "Books" section have 5 different types of books: Action and adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Romance, Youth stories. What I have done to attract clients, is to provide our gmail account that is "readthelife@gmail.com"  Also we provide our gmail account to help them if they have dudes.

Now you can think that is very easy doing that and it doesn't take you so much time doing it, but it is very difficult to find books for each of the categories. The difficulties I have found are the plots of the books. What I mean is that the majority of the plots were written in spanish, so I had to translate the plots into english.

What I recommend you for Christmas

Hello readers,

As you know christmas holidays are near, and you will have a lot of time to do everything that you want. So today, I will write about 1 film and 2 books that I like it, giving you information about them but from my point of view.

Before starting I have to say that I’m not a person that like to see a lot of films, nad if a see the type is romance/love stories, drama film, musical, romantic comedy or a comedy. I don’t see other types because they don’t call my attention. And with books the same thing, but I also like reading poetry. I have to confess that if you let me choose, between a movie and a book, I would surely choose the book, that if it has to be my style, if not neither.

12 Dates of Christmas

This is the film I recommend you, is “12 Dates of Christmas”. Is a romantic comedy film, and is based on a young woman who re-lives the same first date on Christmas Eve over and over again.In a strange twist of fate, Kate is given the chance to re-live Christmas Eve twelve times. Under these weird new circumstances, Kate learns to take risks and enjoy what she's been given. She must discover how to break the cycle, but she don’t know is she should attempt to win back her ex-boyfriend Jack, or pursue Miles who is the guy of the blind date.

Te odiaré hasta que te quiera (Bad Boy’s Girl 1)

This is the first book I recommend you, is called “Te odiaré hasta que te quiera (Bad Boy’s girl 1).

I have to say that this book was a phenomenon of the reading platform Wattpad, with more than 130 million readings, but now it is not available; so if you want to read it you will have to buy the book. This book is a love story, but no the typical one that the boy is the most popular and he is having a relationship with the most popular girl, no. This love story is about one girl that it’s called Tessa, and one boy that it’s called Cole. Since they were small, Cole has dedicated himself making her life impossible, but the guy who has returned is nothing like the bully of before. This new guy challenges her, test her limits, he force her to remove the cool girl. He changes her whole life. After reading this you will ask yourself, could it be that who she thinks is her worst nightmare is actually her guardian angel? If you want to know read the book. In addition this book has two more, in total are three. This book is very curious, you do not know what can happen because it is full of surprises, and that's why I recommend it. You will not regret.

Mi estúpido niñero

This is the second book I recommend you, is called “Mi estúpido niñero”. This is a phenomenon of the reading platform Wattpad, so you can not find it in the bookstores. This book also is a love story, but it is very different from the previous one. This story is about one girl called Samantha Donnet, and a boy called Tyler Harrison. Sam is 17 years old, her parents have to do a business trip and they hire a babysitter. When I read it I couldn't believe it. With 17 years old and your parents put you a babysitter have to be... That babysitter is Tyler, he is two years older than she. Yes, you read it right. ¡Not ten or twenty years older, no! ¡Two years! Surely you are imagining that he is a responsible, mature and intelligent person, to be hired for something like that. ¡Well it's just the opposite! Is irresponsible, immature and even in some cases a dog may be smarter than he. If you read it, you will not regret it, since, many things happen.

Sometimes you can get angry with the writer or the person who does what you do not like, other times you can cry, others laugh and so on. I tell you that, because it happened to me, and I don’t know if I've cried more for joy or sadness.

SAY NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

As you know the last 25th of November has been the International day the violence against women. Taking into account that, I think it coould be a good idea to do this work. My objective is to inform people about how many types of violence and abuse are, and also at what age people start to suffer because of violence.

Today, I will write about a person that have received a Nobel Prize. Her name is Herta Müller. She was born in August 17th of 1953. She is a Romanian-born German novelist, poet and essayist. Born in Nițchidorf, Timiș County in Romania, her native language is German. Herta is the recipient of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Literature, who, with the concentration of poetry and the frankness of prose, depicts the landscape of the dispossessed.

Müller was born to Banat Swabian Catholic farmers in Nițchidorf, up to the 1980s a German-speaking village in the Romanian Banat in western Romania. Her family was part of Romania's German minority. Her grandfather had been a wealthy farmer and merchant, but his property was confiscated by the Communist regime. Her father had been a member of the Waffen SS during World War II, and earned a living as a truck driver in Communist Romania. In 1945 her mother, then aged 17, was along with 100,000 others of the German minority deported to forced labor camps in the Soviet Union, from which she was released in 1950.Müller's native language is German; she learned Romanian only in grammar school. She graduated from Nikolaus Lenau High School before becoming student of German studies and Romanian literature at West University of Timișoara.

In 1976, Müller began working as a translator for an engineering factory, but was dismissed in 1979 for her refusal to cooperate with the Securitate, the Communist regime’s secret police. After her dismissal she initially earned a living by teaching kindergarten and giving private German lessons.

Müller's first book, Niederungen (Nadirs), was published in Romania in German in 1982, in a state-censored version. The book was about a child's view of the German-cultural Banat. Some members of the Banat Swabian community criticized Müller for her unsympathetic portrayal of village life Müller was a member of Aktionsgruppe Banat, a group of German-speaking writers in Romania who supported freedom of speech over the censorship they faced under Nicolae Ceaușescu's government, and her works, including The Land of Green Plums, deal with these issues Radu Tinu, the Securitate officer in charge of her case, denies that she ever suffered many persecutions] a claim that is opposed by Müller's own version of her (ongoing) persecution in an article in the German weekly Die Zeit in July 2009.

Since the early 1990s she has been internationally established, and her works have been translated into more than twenty languages.

In my opinion, Müller is important because her works depicting the effects of violence, cruelty and terror, usually in the setting of Communist Romania under the repressive Nicolae Ceausescu regime which she has experienced herself. Many of her works are told from the viewpoint of the German minority in Romania and are also a depiction of the modern history of the Germans in the Banat and Transylvania.

SOCIAL SITES

Hello readers,

Today, I will speak about social sites like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter... and I'm going to explain you which are their advantages and desadvantages. But also I will give you my opinion about them.

If I’m honest I don’t have a lot of social networks, I only have Instagram, Snapchat and Whatsapp. I don’t like to use a lot the first two, but I use quite a lot the third.

I’ve been thinking these days and in my opinion, people use them very frequently, so I can say that they are important in our lives. Apart form that I think that social websites have a lot of advantages, but we can not forget the disadvantages. We usually don’t take into account the importance of the disadvantages that they have, and it’s very important to know them.

These are some of the advantages the social sites bring. You can find romance in many social sites, also you can get and give product and service referrals. Also you can seek a job, you can give or receive career or personal advice, you can share political beliefs and much more. In Instagram you can access news in real time, and you can see people's photos as well. Then in Whatsapp, you can speak with friends or family that are not with you in that moment, or that they are not in your country.

And these are some of the disadvantages that that they have. In a lot of times there is the risk of fraud or Identity theft, that means that whether you like it or not, the information you post on the Internet is available to almost anyone who is clever enough to access it, and with that information one person can create another profile, with your name, surname, and all the information that have about you. On the other hand there is cyberbullying and crimes against children. What is cyberbulling? Cyberbulling is when we use social networks to expose individuals to other forms of harassment or even inappropriate contact. This can be especially true for teens and younger children. Unless parents diligently filter the Web content their family views, children could be exposed to pornography or other inappropriate content. Thirdly, other disadvantages are that they causes distractions, they reduce family closeness, they give people a licence to be hurtful, and also they decrease face-to-face communication skills.

As you can see not all the things are good. So, we have to be careful when we are using social sites, otherwise we can have problems and negative consequences.

TRAVELLING TO SALOU

Hello friends,

Today, I will speak of my experience when I traveled to Salou. (If you don't know Salou is in Tarragona, in Catalonia.)

My family has an apartment there, so we go very often. When we go we do the same things every day, because we know a lot of places that are there, and we don’t want to go to a museum in summer…

If you go like a tourist you can do so many things. One of them is going to Portaventura attraction park. There are many attractions, some of them are very scary but others aren't. If you are easily scared person like me I don’t recommend you Shambhala and Dragon Khan because of the downhills (Here I leave you a video of how it is the Shambhala). The Stampida and Tutuki Splash also have downhills but not so much. I go a lot of summers to Portaventura and all times when I go back home I have an experience, and I know that will not forget it; and I suppose that if you go you will not forget it.

Another thing that you can do is look at the historic monuments and buildings. You can see them in a lot of places, for example; the  Monument to Jaume I and the Fountains of the Font lluminosa are on The Promenade. In other places there are the Church of Santa María del Mar, Torre Vela, Harbour-master’s Office, Monument to Fishermen, Old Carrier Railway Station...

I think I’m boring you with all of this so I leave you one link that contains more things to do.

The climate in summer is very hot. On one day we can have 30 degrees and on another 38. I recommend you to drink cold things, going to the swimming pool… But I don’t recommend you any of the beaches that Salou has, because one of the beaches don't have waves and is always full and the other has little rocks on the sand, also don't have waves, but have less people; if you don’t like waves then you can go.

If one day you don't feel like cooking, going to a restaurant is the best idea. There are a lot with different style, and if you don’t have place you can go to another. There are some restaurants that are very elegant, such as “La Morera de Pablo & Ester”, “Restaurante Castillo de Javier”, “Flash Bar Restaurante Lounge”, and many more. Then there are the cheap ones. The food is very good and also the services, there are a lot of cheap restaurants, for example “El Trasto Taberna”, “La Tortillita”, “Al Taglio Salou”, and many more.

So in my opinion Salou is a very nice place to visit, because of the landscapes. Then, if you go like a tourist, you have so many things to do and places to visit.
